New COMEDY CENTRAL PSA highlights MHFA https://cagraygazette.com/716/news/new-comedy-central-psa-highlights-mhfa/ https://cagraygazette.com/716/news/new-comedy-central-psa-highlights-mhfa/#respond Thu, 10 Oct 2019 23:16:27 +0000 https://cagraygazette.com/?p=716

“Dear Mental Health First Aider,

On World Mental Health Day, we’re excited to announce that the National Council for Behavioral Health has partnered with Comedy Central on its first long-term campaign to change the conversation around mental health by making Mental Health First Aid as common as CPR.

The campaign launched today with an impactful video, “Be the Difference,” featuring comedians Matteo Lane, Jeff Ross and Yamaneika Saunders. Watch the video.

“Comedy Central drives the cultural conversation by revealing the funny truth about whatever is happening in life. Through comedy we have the power to change the way people think and act and we will work diligently as a brand moving forward to drive mental health culture change,” said Erika Soto Lamb, Comedy Central vice president of social impact.

“We know it’s hard to talk about your mental health and ask for help,” said Chuck Ingoglia, president and CEO of the National Council for Behavioral Health. “That’s why Mental Health First Aid is so valuable. It gives you permission and the tools to have those difficult conversations, support people around you and get the help you or they might need.”

As part of the campaign, Comedy Central employees will be trained in Mental Health First Aid at Work and will begin their commitment to creating comedic content that educates and raises awareness about mental health and substance use issues.

This campaign could not have happened without your support of Mental Health First Aid and dedication to helping those around you.

Learn more about this exciting new partnership and thank you for choosing to #BeTheDifference!”

9th Grade ELA is selling shirts to raise money for possible upcoming Field Trips.  Last year’s “Work Hard, Dream Big” shirt was such a hit, so we look forward to seeing the response to this year’s design. We know that you all already do SO much for all of our students, but we would love your support in raising money to offset costs for students who may not be able to go otherwise. All shirts are $12 regardless of size.  Respond to this email with your size if you would like to purchase. You can pay with cash or check. All money is due by Friday, October 31 to Mrs. Richardson in C113.
Thank you for all you do Dream Builders,
